Artists 2007 > Shona McCartney
Glass is an exciting medium to work with, dangerous and sharp yet tactile once fired. Its fual nature has been used in my work to explore certain depths of inner meaning, which when brought to light can be made to play effortlessly with forms from the natural world.
The literal transparancy of glass can create a sense of simplicity to questions asked as an artist. Using the elements as a reference point, layers of experience have been translated through colour to reflect my own understanding of being in the world.
